About Our Pastor

Pastor Carl D. Massey, Jr. is a native of Newton Grove NC and a graduate of St Leo College in St Leo FL.  He retired from the Army after 20 years of service in June 2004.  Work brought him and his family to Wilson in Jan 2005.  He served as Operations Manager and General Manager for several area businesses before deciding to answer the call to full-time ministry in July 2016.  He served as Associate Pastor of Christian Life Fellowship International Ministries under the tutelage of the late Pastor Leonard Smith from March 2008 until October 2017.  Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, he founded Beyond the Cross Ministries in November 2017 where he serves as Pastor.  He is married to Lisa Marie Massey and they have four children: Amanda (Shane Smith), Mark (Leslie), Jon & Daniel as well as three grandchildren: Levi, Callen & Azariah.
